  • We are currently looking for a part-time bookeeper to help us with monthly accounts, bank reconciliation, gift aid as well as preparing monthyl accounts for the Trustee Board.

Honorary Treasurer

We are currently looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join the Trustee Board.

The overall role of a treasurer is to:

  • Maintain an overview of Nourish Community Foodbank's financial affairs
  • Ensure its financial viability
  • Ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.

The role requires a commitment of 2-3 hours per week plus attendance at monthly finance and Trustee meetings.

Volunteer

Volunteering gives the opportunity to meet people, develop skills and make a positive impact within the community. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in any of the following:

  • Supporting local people in crisis
  • Food redistribution instead of food waste and landfill
  • Sharing your skills
  • Working alongside people to help develop community initiatives

We have one off and ongoing opportunities for volunteers, with roles such as delivery drivers, fundraisers, event organisers and distribution venue volunteers.

Packing, sorting and driving opportunities are currently available on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10am and Midday.

Current Roles

We are looking for friendly teamworkers who are keen to help us continue to support the increasing numbers of people who find themselves in a crisis situation. We are looking for reliable volunteers with good interpersonal skills who can help with any of the following roles.

Note, hours do not need to be fixed and volunteers can select times that work best for them on a monthly basis

Warehouse Packer

  • To pack and prepare emergency foodbags for delivery, manage donated stock and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Requirements: Volunteers will be required to do some lifting, although trolleys are available to help transport goods
  • Location: Big Yellow Self Storage unit on the Longfield Industrial Estate
  • Hours available: 10-12 each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Occasional out-of-hours if willing

Delivery Driver

  • To collect foodbags from a central storage location for delivery to clients’ homes across Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas, or to pick up donations for delivery to the central storage location
  • Requirements: This is a physical role and lifting will be required. Volunteers must also have the use of a car (reimbursement for each journey is provided)
  • Location: Big Yellow Self Storage unit on the Longfield Industrial Estate and client homes (extending as far out as Goudhurst and Cranbrook on occasion)
  • Hours available: 10-12 each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Occasional out-of-hours if willing.

  • To identify new locations for Nourish donation pods across the community and manage all operational liaison and collections, with regular liaison with the Operations Manager
  • Requirements: Good organisation, administration and negotiation skills and access to car or good transport links (reimbursement for each car journey is provided)

  • Hours available: To suit
